EarthAction

Our Mission: Inform and inspire people everywhere to work together and turn their concern, passion, and outrage into meaningful action for a more just, peaceful and sustainable world.

EarthAction has worked, with much success, to preserve the global environment, prevent armed conflict, protect human rights, and to help ensure that everyone has access to health care, education, family planning, and economic opportunity. EarthAction's goal is to enable thousands of citizen groups, national legislators, journalists and citizens to act simultaneously around the world to solve the world¹s most serious global problems.

EarthAction has carried out campaigns focused on specific global environment, development, peace or human rights issue. In addition to EarthAction¹s 2,600 Partner Organizations our campaigns have included thousands of:
Civil Society Organizations
Concerned individuals
Policy makers including national legislators, cabinet ministers and heads of government
Journalists at newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations and the Internet

In nineteen years, EarthAction has successfully carried out eighty-four global campaigns focused on many of the world¹s most critically important issues. Our success rate is high (see attached report) and our efforts have played a major role in creating significant policy changes at the national and global levels.

Each of EarthAction's campaigns has motivated thousands of organizations, parliamentarians, journalists, and citizens to take simultaneous action on an issue of common concern. Our Partner Organizations have used our campaign materials to educate and mobilize their own members, the general public in their regions, their elected representatives, and their media. Through our Partners, we regularly reach tens of thousands and sometimes millions of people and policymakers around the world.

From our own and independent surveys of our Partners¹ participation in our campaigns, we can confidently estimate that on any one campaign between 25% to 75% of our Partner Organizations have used the materials we provided to them in our Action Kits to take action on an issue. Our surveys indicate that Partners based in the Global South use our Action Kits slightly more than our Partners in Northern countries.

Each of our campaigns has also generated action in parliaments around the world. Over 1,000 parliamentarians have contacted us and have asked to regularly receive our Parliamentary Alerts.

And we have stimulated coverage of the issues we have addressed in newspapers, magazines and on the radio, television and the Internet. Our Media Alerts have generated thousands of articles and reports in media outlets worldwide.

All of our materials have been produced in English, French and Spanish and additional languages when needed, and all have linked information with action.
