Earth Day 2014

Today, more than half of the world’s population lives in cities. We stand at a crossroads. If the right investments are made in energy, transportation and green buildings, the cities of the future could look very different than the cities of today. Our communities could be cleaner and more sustainable. Our quality of life could be better.

Earth Day 2014: Green Cities

VideoThe official theme of Earth Day 2014 is Green Cities. The Green Cities campaign is focused on helping cities around the world become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint. Focused on three key elements -- buildings, energy, and transportation -- the campaign aims to help cities accelerate their transition to a cleaner, healthier, and more economically viable future through improvements in efficiency, investments in renewable technology, and regulation reform.

Make a #GlobalSelfie with NASA on Earth Day

Article ThumbNASA invites you -- and everyone else on the planet -- to take part in a worldwide celebration of Earth Day this year with the agency's #GlobalSelfie event. The year 2014 is a big one for NASA Earth science. Five NASA missions designed to gather critical data about our home planet are launching to space this year. NASA is marking this big year for Earth science with a campaign called Earth Right Now, and as part of this campaign the agency is asking for your help this Earth Day, April 22.

Earth Protect Appoints Timothy Vernile, Earth Protect Film and Web Site Intern

Article ThumbTimothy Vernile, Coop Intern from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania joins Earth Protect. Tim is a completing his Junior year and majoring in Animation & Visual Effects.  Among his technical skills are 3D modeling, animation, compositing, photography, filming, drawing, and sound design.  Drexel’s broad array of classes have offered him a hand in every aspect of art and design. When not learning how to be a filmmaker, Tim's passions are video games, comics, skateboarding, and music.
