According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) there are many endangered species all over the world and some more than others. The IUCN helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges.
The most critically endangered types of deer/antelope are the Addax, Hirola, Ader’s Duiker, Dama Gazelle, and the Saiga. These are found in parts of Africa, Europe as well as Asia. They are getting killed off because of other predators eating them or because of people hunting them.
There are about 25 most endangered Turtles and Tortoises which can be found mostly in Asia. They are becoming more and more extinct because of being taken out of the wild and used for food, perceived medicinal beliefs and pets while their habitats are being polluted, degraded and destroyed each and every day. The turtles in Asia are suffering from illegal and unsustainable trade. Without taking any action to try and conserve the turtles, many of the turtles and tortoises around the world will become extinct within the next few decades.
There are so many different species in our world that are in danger of becoming extinct that there are too many to name. They range from birds, to primates, to tigers and to the smallest of fish. When I was looking at some of the articles on IUCN.org about the endangered species, I learned that there is many of being extinct. I didn’t know that turtles are in big danger of becoming extinct. It’s just crazy to think that our climate is affecting the wildlife that we have. If we don’t do something to conserve and preserve these endangered species then we will have nothing left and we probably won’t be able to survive ourselves. We not only use some species to survive but some help us get rid of the animals that we don’t want around. I am afraid if nobody does anything about this, then we won’t have our own society because of the climate that is affecting the wildlife.
