Join us at the 1st Annual Global Social Change Film Festival & Institute

Ubud, Bali April 13 - 17, 2011
Join us at The Global Social Change Film Festival & Institute (GSCFFI) celebrating and promoting social change film and media. The Institute supports filmmakers and activists in creating inspired film & media, reaching a wide audience and motivating social action.

GSCFFI was founded by the Solet Initiative in 2009. The expanding list of partners includes: One Degree Media & Entertainment, Elevate Studios, The Creative Coalition, Working Films, New Day Films, Earth Protect, Ubud Vibe, San Francisco Green Film Festival, Michael Wiese Productions, A World Institute for a Sustainable Humanity, and the 2020 Fund.

GSCFFI features four days of films, panels, workshops, selected shorts and special events to inspire and build a global community focused on expanding the reach of conscious social change film and media.

The inaugural year takes place in beautiful and transformative Ubud, Bali – voted the ‘Best City in Asia’ by Conde Nast Traveler in 2010!

This year’s inaugural focus is Global Women and Film. The Festival will feature inter¬national woman filmmakers as honorees & keynote speakers. High profile artists will be honored including: award-winning Indonesian filmmaker and activist Nia Dinata (who will also serve on the Institute Faculty).

Call for Submissions
Beyond Global Women and Film, the Festival will also showcase other social change-oriented films (for example, those with Environmental or Social Justice themes).

The film submission process is open and we strongly encourage documentary and narrative feature-length entries. Submissions close November 15th.
