San Francisco Becomes serious about recycling

San Francisco just put a law in effect making it mandatory to recycle and compost!

Very interesting! The Board of Supervisors in San Francisco voted 9 to 2 for a mandatory composting and recycling program law. The intention is to aggressively reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and have the city send nothing to the landfills or incinerators by 2020.

Every residence and business in the city must have three color-coded bins for waste: blue for recycling, green for compost, and black for trash.

Lack of compliance with the recycling could result in fines! I think I am going to go and buy three color coded trash cans for my house and follow their lead!

Great idea San Francisco!

PS I don't compost, but my worms do! I added them to the compost and they do a great job.
