California is currently facing the most severe drought it has seen in nearly 40 years. Droughts are one of the most costly of natural disasters for the effects it has on the land and for those involved in agriculture. The big problem is the mismanagement of the low amounts of water that they do receive that are being diverted away from farmland, due to environmentalist complaints about how the influx of water would affect the Delta Smelt, a small fish species. This issue is of grave concern in the region. The decision to protect the Delta Smelt at the expense of the people of California is dangerously irresponsible!!! It's time to take action…Protect the Harvest.
