Oil Spill Gulf of Mexico 2010: BP takes full responsibility for oil cleanup

BP said that company assumes full responsibility for the spill that threatens U.S southern coastal area. The company will pay all costs necessary and appropriate cleaning, plus fines and compensation, said BP on its website.

Obama toured the affected area and said “BP is responsible for the leak. BP will pay”. He further said government will mobilize advanced technology in the efforts to curtail the damage.

The oil slick caused of oil leak, threatens more than 400 species that depend the fragile ecosystem of southern shores.

Government put a fishing ban for 10 days due to oil leak. States of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida declared state of emergency.
