In China's rush to become the factory for the world, they forgot to protect their own people and the rest of us who live in the pollution offshoots they create and who often unwittingly are buying and using Chinese made products. Now we learn from the LA Times, Oct 14th article by John M. Glionna that China has 16 of the most heavily polluted cities. Even worse air inside Chinese homes is as much as 10 times worse than outside. The reason is that 7 of 10 homes still burn coal and wood and half of Chinese men smoke. Does the Chinese government have the political will to enact sound health policies? Their pollution goes around the world. 83 million Chinese will die from lung cancer and respiratory ailments unless cigarette smoking and indoor fuel burning is addressed says Harvard School of Public Health.

We should be outraged for them. What can we do?

The recent poisoning of thousands of babies including some who died, is the result of unsafe environmental practices. And now besides milk, we have products that use milk such as Cadbury Chocolate products,recalled week of Sept 30 and they include Cadbury Dark Chocette, Eclairs, Diary Milk Chocolate, Milk Chocolate Hazelnut, Diary Milk Cookies Chocolate and Hazelnut Praline Chocolate. I myself think we should use all our combined economic power and avoid Chinese made products as much as we can, hard to do I know cause they are everywhere and in everything but I for one am screening to stop buying Chinese until they get it that they cannot poison the world in the rush to their own economic gains.
